Chester LTE Levels

/images/posts/PeplinkUbrLte.thumbnail.jpg

I've just moved to Chester for a temporary assignment with my wife. Of course, having Internet coverage is important to me. Until I can get Starlink, LTE connectivity is going to be the solution. I also have Hughesnet in Stirling City, but that's not going to work for a temporary solution, and I'm trying to get rid of that anyway.

Router

Using a Peplink UBR LTE Router which can handle a wired connection, and has two LTE radios for failover. Lots of features which I'm just now starting to play with.

With the two LTE modems, I've expiramenting with sim cards on two different carriers, T-Mobile and Version.

About me

My current "About Me" writeup, written late at night:

Lance Orner was adopted as a baby by passing wild bears in a remote logging town back in the golden age when wild bears did that sort of thing. He then developed an abnormal ability around computers, which was odd since at that time, computers were hard to come by, especially in remote logging towns with bears. He has since written some computer programs. Sometimes, he gets paid.

Eventually, a kind and pretty woman took him in and took pity on him. They had two kids together, who also take pity on him, especially when he's the one that buys all of the new computer equipment. He still lives with that kind and pretty woman. The included dog doesn't necessarily take pity, but does appreciate being fed.

People still seem to call him asking for programming help on servers, Linux, Python, C++, databases, automation, cloud technologies, web programming, and general old-school hard problems. He can't get them to go away, but does like the "being paid" part. He is able to add insight from being raised by bears.

Justin Running at Concert

Ran into this picture again.

Taken in 2011 in Justin's Jr.High Orchestra recital (Cello). The cell phone was having a hard time tracking in the dark light, but it seemed to catch him rushing around to set up.

Amazon Shower Head

A home improvement forum said, "You know, Amazon sells shower heads straight from China that don't necessarily have the water restriction limitations, right?"

Me: hmm.

Me later: that's a lot of water. 🙂
